Cathedral Seminary is a place where young adult men, who are college aged and older, discern with the Church, a vocation to the priesthood. Its mission is to provide an environment that forms men to be committed disciples of Christ free to respond to Gods call to the priesthood, including the call to the celibate life.
“I will give you shepherds after my own heart.”
At Cathedral Seminary, seminarians under the direction of dedicated priests and laity become well-rounded Christian men characterized by a life of holiness, virtue, and generous service. Such a life is nurtured by a deep life of prayer, and a profound love for the people of God. It is further nourished through rigorous intellectual formation in a faithful and loving obedience to the Church.
Cathedral Seminary House of Formation fulfills its mission through a balanced program of spiritual, human, intellectual, and pastoral formation, as outlined in St. John Paul IIs Pastores dabo vobis, the foundational document for modern seminary programs, and the Program of Priestly Formation issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
